Emma is a calming child and adolescent therapist who supports children and families navigating emotional and behavioural challenges. She understands how a child’s difficulties can impact the whole family, often leaving parents feeling overwhelmed, worried, and unsure how to help.

Emma’s approach is integrative, person-centred, and arts-based. She creates a safe, non-judgmental space where children can express themselves through play, creativity, and conversation at their own pace. She pays close attention to both spoken and unspoken communication, helping to make sense of behaviours and emotions without blame.

Alongside her work with children, Emma supports parents to better understand their child’s needs, reduce overwhelm, and rebuild confidence within family relationships. She places strong emphasis on attachment, emotional safety, and the deeper meaning behind behaviour.

Emma works with children and young people experiencing ADHD, autism, anxiety, low self-esteem, emotional dysregulation, attachment difficulties, school refusal (EBSA), trauma, bereavement, friendship challenges, and neurodivergent burnout or masking. Many of the children she supports feel misunderstood or overwhelmed, while parents often arrive feeling exhausted and unsure of the next step.

Emma believes there is no such thing as a “bad” child - only a child whose needs are not yet fully understood. Her clinical work is informed by postgraduate training in Child and Adolescent Psychotherapeutic Counselling from the University of Cambridge, alongside additional training in Theraplay UK and Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy.
