Laura is a warm, understanding, and non-judgemental therapist who works with both adults and young people. With a deep-rooted passion for supporting others and a rich background in therapeutic care, she is dedicated to making a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals and families.
Her professional journey began in 2007 after qualifying as a Youth, Community, and Play Worker at the University of Birmingham. Over the following decade, she worked in a variety of roles supporting families, culminating in a leadership position as Chief Executive of a Birmingham-based children’s charity. While rewarding, this role led Laura to realise how much she missed direct, one-to-one support - prompting her to retrain as an Integrative Counsellor and transition into private practice.
Committed to continuous professional growth, Laura pursued post-qualification training in counselling children and young people. This has deepened her expertise in supporting teenagers and adolescents facing a wide range of emotional challenges.
Laura has a particular passion for helping adults and young people manage anxiety, exam and work-related stress, burnout, bereavement, and family breakdown. She draws from a range of therapeutic models including psychodynamic, cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT), and person-centred therapy. She also integrates psychoeducation into her sessions, empowering clients with tools and knowledge to better understand and manage their mental health.
Central to Laura’s practice is building a genuine and trusting therapeutic relationship - grounded in empathy, collaboration, and a shared commitment to healing and growth.
